EDUCATION & TRAINING In
pursuit of its objective, the centre undertakes educational and training
programs which emphasize the teaching of the concepts and methods of
sustainable development including the need for diversity of solutions in
different national and regional circumstances, and undertake writings and
publications on climate change, innovative approaches to energy
efficiency, environmental education and sustainable development challenges in
Asia and the Pacific. A
quarterly scientific journal (periodical) named as “Asia Pacific Journal of Environment and Sustainable Development”
is to be launched soon to promote knowledge dissemination and awareness
building in scientific community and other stakeholders. Recognition of the climate change problem
requires understanding and education, and also creation of a business climate
in which innovators and entrepreneurs can flourish. The centre organises seminars,
workshops and scientific meetings of the national, regional and
international dimensions so as to broaden the dissemination and communication
of knowledge on and inter-linkages between environmental problems, energy use
and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific. |
