INTRODUCTION The Climate, Energy and
Sustainable Development Analysis Centre (CESDAC - a
private non-profit making non-governmental organization, Registered as
Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956 Vide Registration Number:
U45400DL2008NPL172537-2007/2008) has been engaged in systematic
research, information sharing and awareness building on the current and
likely future changes in climate and its variability, scientific
analyses of their likely impacts on the relevant sectors vital for
socio-economic development in Asia-Pacific region and develop
appropriate response strategies to secure our civilization from the
risk of human-induced dangerous climate change. MANPOWER The Centre, in addition
to its own Governing Body and an International Advisory Board, derives
its strength from competent, qualified and highly experienced team of
dedicated, multi-disciplinary team of professionals appointed as
consultants with the Centre. A number of them occupy senior positions
in their past and current employment. Suitably qualified manpower, are
well-conversant with integrated modeling techniques and other
methodological tools of comprehensive system analysis, and are hired on
contractual appointment to carry out the required scientific and
technical work. Efforts are also underway to help build and strengthen
such expertise within the relevant national and regional organizations
collaborating with the Centre. The Centre carries out
its programs and activities in collaboration with various relevant
international and national organizations and draws upon the specialized
expertise that exists in different governmental and non-governmental
institutions, universities, and academic bodies. Part of the work at
CESDAC is currently being undertaken in collaboration with various
relevant international and national research organizations. An International Advisory
Board has been set up to seek their broad technical guidance to the
Centre in the shaping and prioritizing of its technical programs. The
Centre also seeks to collaborate closely with relevant international
and United Nations organizations in its pursuits. RESOURCES The Centre seeks funds
from various donor agencies, institutions, trusts and foundations in
the form of project based grant-in-aid for sponsored project
activities. The multi-national corporate houses provide funding support
to facilitate technical research and developing comprehensive and
strategic implementation design, and expert evaluation of health,
safety and environmental issue - oriented risk communication programs.
The Centre is also open to contributions from local, national and
international non-governmental and governmental organizations involved
in global change research and environmental education and awareness
building activities. |
